Method one.
Click the phrase about messages on the front page under "Your Details".
"Your details
FAQ
Search
Memberlist
Profile
You have no new messages Log out [ peter ] "
That take you to your inbox, where you can create new PM's by clicking "New Topic", or view PM's sent to you by clicking on their title, then clicking on "Post Reply".
When creating a new PM there is a button to search for username, I looked for "Mike*" and then used the dropdown arrowhead to find your name at 3rd place.
I've also sent you a PM to practice replying to.

Dear Peter, sorry to be a nuisance, but I cannot find "Your Details" or any phrase about messages on the front page. Has something changed? I know I am jargon/computer illiterate and unless I do something frequently I forget how to get in. Can you please redirect my steps? this time I''ll save your instructions on a separate word doc and word them so that I can understand it next time I want to send a PM.

Mike, the green band just under the words "Kitchen Garden" at the top left corner of the screen has two hotlinks in yellow writing.
"User Control Panel" which equates to "Your Details" for your login.
"n new messages" where "n" is a number, which equates to "messages".
There is also a button on each post which allows you to PM the poster.

I usually use the little green PM under a posting by someone I want to send a message to. It's next to the word PROFILE at the bottom left of the message
To read my messages I go to the very top of the page to the green strip under KITCHEN GARDEN and click where it says new messages (it usually tells you if you have one to read).
PS I hadn't noticed before but there is a little WWW at the bottom left of the posting too (well there is on mine) - this takes you to the person postings website.

One other thing Mike, when they introduced the new forum software a while back, it came with a mechanism to stop it getting filled up with old messages.
If you sent any volume of PM's before, you may eventually hit a limit and be asked to deal with them before the system lets you send any more. Let us know when you hit this (as the options are cunningly obscure and well hidden amongst the footnotes).

Thank you all. These helpful hints are now copied and pasted onto a word-doc. The little green PM is something I've been looking for but for some reason missed. It's simply practice, practice, practice.
