We haven't bought an egg for years - having our own hens and ducks. So I was surprised yesterday, when I came across an empty Asda egg box to see that among the information inside the lid was this gem:
Allergy Advice
Contains egg

I'm not opposed to allergy advice as such, but what next? Labels on meat: Unsuitable for vegetarians?

Hi Alan,
Just as bad as the Rock Salt with the legend:
this salt is mined from the deposit laid down in the German Hills some 7,000,000 years ago.
Use by March 2008!

Sadly this is what this country is reduced to and the things that really count are ignored. For many years the H&S people have fined people for insufficient packaging now they are fining people for over packaging. There will be, on most LA's, two departments working against each other each armed with legislation to back their arguments up!

My sister has a restaurant and they're only allowed to use pasteurised eggs. Why?

Next time you buy a cup of coffee look at the lid - May contain hot liquid. And there was me wanting a cold cup of coffee

Expect plenty of warnings on your Irish coffee:
alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and fat
What are you doing to yourself :?:

Slightly off topic - can someone tell me the logic of buying a diet drink along with a choclate bar? You know what I mean a Mars bar and a Diet coke . Why? Does the diet coke cancell out the calories in the Mars bar?
