bought in lidl, aberystwyth yesterday.
brother p touch 1000 complete with batteries and tape. £9.99.
Was going to get the one in harrods horticulture for £49.95, so now have saved £40.

A very clever gadget for doing plant labels, i wonder if they were selling the rolls of tape seperatly as these are expensive to renew.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I'm off to Lidl tomorrow to see if I can get one too. Good job there's 2 Lidl shops where I work, so hopefully one of them will have some stocks. I've been pondering a purchase and at that price I can stop pondering! This is my excited face !

I think there might be a difference in the ones in Lidl and Harrods Horticulture, i'm wondering if it's just the tape in Lidl's not being waterproof, but at that price it,s still worth it.
Maybe the tapes are compatable.
Dear Tigger, it will be very handy for making left and right stickers for your fur lined granny boots.

OH, you must watch out or Tigger will have you banged up under Section II, citing your postings on the forum as evidence.

That could explain quite a lot, including farm girls climbing in the window.

I wouldn't be without my p-touch labeller for anything. I got it at Malvern about 5 years ago.As far as I know there is nothing wrong with the cheap machines around now, they even take 2 sizes of tape but no freebies with them. At about £15 per tape it is that which is expensive. I spent about £80 this year to have a choice of tapes, I have black on white, white on black, white on clear, white on red for both machines plus for posh work Gold on Black!, there are lots of other colours. My machine takes 12 mm only.

I had a good search round the net, there is nobody cheaper. My latest order was Oct.2006
P.S.Can I remind everybody that this was the original topic and all the chatter doesn't help on that topic

OK Herby - I've got an ASW and a Section 12 Doctor on their way......
I'll have you know I'm not a granny and I don't have any other granny's boots.
I do now have a Brother P Touch 1000 now though. Thankyou Pete for telling us about Lidl. They didn't have them in the shop near to where I work, but they had lots in the one on the other side of town.
