Christmas!

The post has just arrived, including a missive from Lakeland to tell me that the joy of Christmas is inside. OH is still on 'late summer' and most of us are in autumn. (Hint to OH.) We're in late September.

That's the first Christmas thing I've seen this year but no doubt the stable door has been opened and it will all be galloping towards us. Bah!

I like to drag every warm day into late Summer….I know dear Monika will be frowning down on me!🙂
I like to think of Autumn when the leaves start falling….and there’s no moving me from that thought, Stravaig….😀

And we've just had a message from our online supermarket telling us to book a Christmas delivery spot before they all go!.
I do HATE being knee jerked into the next season's planning like this. As you get older time already moves too quickly without the commercial sector trying to speed things up even more.

Perhaps when the leaves start colouring up OH it will be time to officially declare Autumn. They're still very green around here.

I digress. Talking of leaves. Lots are coming off still green in this lovely weather and I expect a load more in the next 24 hours (if not complete trees) but do I put them in the bags I use for leafmould or wait for proper Autumn leaves?

Don't know Geoff. Don't know if they'll start decomposing more quickly exposed to the elements or tucked up in warming up leaf mould bags.
Guess it depends on how many calories you've used up in your daily exercise plan!

Funnily driving around the lanes today we commented on the lack of Autumn colour on the trees yet, but if like my fruit trees they have enjoyed the rain, there was enough of it after all to reach even the deepest roots!

The older I get, the more I dread it i,m afraid. It seems to bring news of more of our friends and contacts passing away, and a growth in false commercial congeniality where the general oublic are tempted to spend more money buying things they can,t afford and probably don,t often need anyway.

The skies are grey today and I'm obviously in a post-Christmas "Bah Humbug" mood !

LOL. Happily we’ve moved closer to family but as they age less are hand deliverable and more are being posted to friends “down souff”

I am sick of that Darui guy.

He follows me around, quotes my posts and later goes back to edit in spammy links.

I've reported this many times but it's never been dealt with properly. Only a half-baked bit of post removal, and I'm left looking like I made a cra@p spammy post. I would be very sorry to leave this forum. But I'm not going to put up with having my posts mangled like this.
Please sort it, or goodbye.

You probably don't care if I leave but I don't like looking like a spammer.

Sorry to hear this is still occurring Stravaig - Don't leave! The forum is responding by doing post removal but obviously this person is circumventing this, probs cutting & pasting posts to store. Please keep chasing this up with the admin or Peter. You're the only one affected to date but the more success he/she has will get bolder & start altering other forum members posts who are not as bold as you to challenge this & they will be very distressed & will not know how to address this & this forum is kind of their link to what is going on & the chance to have a chat, rant, moan, learn new things & actually get to know each other over the years from afar etc.

Good luck Stravaig, but you know you can do this! The timing is bad with your move & everything, but kinda know you will also miss these people who welcomed you & then enjoyed your sharing & advice! Stay strong, don't let them win!

Darui was banned and the repost editing Stravaig's post has been removed.
In total I removed one on April 21st and edited out his links on another on May 1st.
He cannot post or follow you around since he was banned on April 8th 2024.
I'm the sole active moderator on here.

And there's still one of his spam 'edits' in this thread.

Peter, I appreciate your efforts and thank you but the spammy bustard still mangled a lot of my posts which haven't been dealt with. For example in this thread I did not post a link to some car check site when I posted about Christmas and Lakeland.

If you are the only active moderator then why not get some more mods? Otherwise it's yet another nail in the coffin for the forum.
