Has anyone got or tried a cordless mower? I only have a small lawn, and my cabled one is ancient. I am looking at Makita, as my DH already has the batteries & chargers for his power tools.

They are fine as long as you keep the grass cut short….and Makita batteries are really good….

Just one thing, Retropants, you might find it needs to run on 5ah batteries….not sure what size batteries your DH has…..

I imagine they might prove ineffective if you opt for rewilding and a No Mow May! . As suggested, you have to be very regular in your mowing habits and a fortnight,s holiday away with lots of rain could leave you struggling to cut impossibly long grass when you return. I can see they have their advantages though as trailing cables can be a hazardous inconvenience. Might be worth seeing if you can borrow a neighbour,s machine , if you know anybody who had one , for a trial run first to see how you get on with it..
