If a married man could testify in front of God that he had not argued with his wife in a year he would be awarded a side of bacon. It was a great honour to 'bring home the bacon'."

I accidentally stumbled across this info on an American website that sells socks. LOL!

Nah, on second thoughts I think the American sock people have it wrong. They probably heard about the Dunmow Flitch Trials and just made up their own interpretation. Still, it's quite an amusing thought.

I think the thought of getting a side of bacon would be a wonderful incentive to agree with everything your significant other said lol

Bringing home the bacon meant the worker earned enough to afford bacon.
