Back to alternative part of thread, I got a reply from my house insurance company (3XD):

Theft of heating oil would be covered under our standard policy. You would not need to take any specific precautions, and in the case you needed to make a claim you would only need to pay your standard excess.

Judging by other posts no padlock seems like the best idea as insurer doesn't specify any extra precautions.

]Was out and about yesterday in Aberdeenshire, went to the garden centre, but apart from a few half price bulbs on display, it was all Christmas stuff on show.
Had a look at a bit of the river Dee that I hope to visit with a rod and line early next spring., I would have attached a video clip, but the forum is broken still.
Been gardening for over 65 years and still learning.
