Have a issue with a rug not laying flat on a laminated floor.

I am hoping one of you has experience of this and maybe have a solution.

Annoying as this could be a constant trip hazard.

I imagine any adhesive could risk in time pulling the laminated floor up or loosening it but wonder if a couple of strips of wide2 inch double sided sticky tape stuck along both the long edges of the rug underside would hold it in place?

We have a similar issue with a smallish thin carpet placed by the opening area for our patio door. I try curling the edges under themselves until they straighten themselves out but it's onky a short term solution I'm afraid.

I have used a good quality double sided tape before, Primrose and it does work….just make sure the floor is dust free and also try and get any dusty bits off the back of the rug….of course, i’m not saying you have any dust about… :)

Thank you all for suggestions, not keen on sticking it to laminated floor though.

At the moment putting the raised bit under settee to prevent tripping.

I think many people perhaps use rugs in specific places to reduce wear and tear, or stop specific areas becoming overly grubby with constant foot traffic. However, as one gets older or becomes less steady on one's feet, you start to realise that you have to choose between carpets becoming grubby or eliminating a possibly worse potential accident hazard.
