I have read through the Vegan Receipes thread, which is useful. I have a lifetime of vegetarian experience but I am trying to work out some subsitutes for dairy. Not for myself but for a guest.
I'm contemplating a crumble or the gooseberry galette from this month's Kitchen Garden (I have frozen goosegogs) and wondering what would be suitable as a replacement for butter. I can get Trex https://familybaking.co.uk/about-trex but have never used it.
What is your experience?

It's been around for years, re-marketed to catch the latest trend. I personally haven't used it but I know my Aunt did in cakes which I re-call were pretty lush & looked the same as any other cake. I have seen it in vegan recipes on Pinterest so maybe have a peek on there to look at the pics of the finished products.

Stork (in a gold block) and Vitalite are both vegan and great for cooking. I have a dairy intolerance, and am veggie also, so I use them both.
