could ny one tell me what is the right way to plant spuds new to all this have looked t books i hve and it says dont manure yet some of the old boys on site say do put manure in trench wht is best way thanks :?: :D

You can grow potatoes using about 1 bucket of well rotted Farm Yarm Manure (FYM) to the yard. Ideally you draw out the drill to a depth to allow you to put in the FYM and cover it with about an inch of soil and place the potato on top of the soil so the potato is not in direct contact with the FYM.

We plant potatoes at about 6 inches deep. The earlies are placed about 12 inches apart and the rows about 24 inches apart.
For main crop we space them 15 inches apart with the rows 30 inches apart.
