Help, my wife seems to think that a recipe appeared in the Kitchen Garden for a pear flan, I am unable to find one in my back copies, however it could have been in a copy that I gave to a friend. Is there anyone who can help please
The only one I can recall is the Almond Pear Slices recipe in the Nov 05 magazine. Puff pastry base, then a layer of marzipan, then pear slices and honey. It loooks a bit like a flan
PM me If that sounds like the right one and I'll post the details.

Almond Pear Slices
Makes six small or one large 20cm (8in) open tart
Half a 500g pack of puff pastry
125g (5oz) pack of marzipan
450g (1 lb) ripe pears
6 generous teaspoons runny honey
Sprinkling of flour
1. Pre-heat oven to 200C, 400F or Gas mark 6
2. Roll out the pastry on a floured board or worktop and fit into tin(s)
3. Slice the marzipan into 5mm (1/4 in) thick slices and lay on pastry
4. Peel and slice pears and arrange on top
5. Drizzle over the honey and bake in the middle of the oven for about 30 mins, or until the pears are soft and the pastry cooked
6. Cool for five mins and serve with cream or crème fraiche. The tarts are also delicious cold.
Tip: Place set honey in a china or plastic bowl in the microwave on low for about a minute to turn into runny honey.
Tip: If the pears are not very ripe, first poach them in a little water and sugar or cook in the microwave for a minute or so on a medium setting.
