Help. Have been given a ceramic kitchen knife, there are no instructions on sharpening, any ideas.

Watched "How its made." on Discovery channel last week & it had them, Panasonic made, implied they would not need sharpening.
Powder compressed then kiln fired, had to contain some metal in powder form for airline security so they'd show up on X-ray & metal detectors. Big automated.Japanese factory shipped the blades to a little craft shop with three blokes in a cross between a shoddy newsagent in a rough district and a lockup garage, who sat at grinding wheels all day.
Quality control?
The master craftsman grinder would slice the surface skin on his left thumb to check it could be precise enough to not draw blood.
Very Japanese.
