My husband also said he didn't like rabbit - for the too many bones reason. We bought one and I cooked it and painstaking picked out all the bones before I served it. He liked it.

With a lot of foods it's a cultural thing and squeamishness. I would never have had raw fish as a child and thought it was a disgusting idea. Husband had only ever had those doorsteps of pickled beetroot in jars so thought he didn't like that either. I'm still stuck trying to get over inherent 'dislikes' but a lot of it is down to our cultural upbringing.

The Thais love fish head curry. Not for me! There again, I'll happily add a fish head when making stock. A lot of it isn't rational.
