It's a very interesting site that I take a look at once in a while. I came across it this time last year via a link from a hedgelaying website.
I could certainly do with finding an old English Tools "Atlas" spade....having "lost" one a few years ago just after I had nicely got it run in again having fitted a new handle and got a shine back on the blade once more.
Not sure my back, or rather right hip, would take too kindly to digging with its long blade at the moment though.
As a result a much smaller old Elwell spade is the one in use at the moment to at least keep going even if it means my digging is disappointingly shallow this year so far...which does not suit our ground.
