Crispy Cucumber

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

Sounds tastey doesn't it. Unfortunately its not a recipe but a problem. Both my cucumber plants appear to be ok (growth wise) except that the leaves are going yellow, "crispy" and dry and no fruit is forming on them. I thought it might have been the sunlight and tried to shade them a bit - but it doesn't seem to have helped. Any idea what the problem could be?

Failing other suggestions, is the air humidity high enough, also it could be temperature excess rather than the effect of direct sunlight. Red spider mite can cause the leaves to dry up.I hope you know already about not watering directly around the stems.
