It's too late for this season's fennel, but how do I get those lovely fat bulbs that the Italians produce? Mine are a decent size but rather more slim and tall than the bootylicious ones you see in the shop. They've been well fed and watered so I'm not sure how to get them up to Kim Kardashian sized fat bottoms.

vivienz - you get the 2020 award for the best description of what to achieve with a vegetable! I tend to go for the mini ones but haven't had one this year as they all bolted but not a total waste as had a wee bit of foliage. I've risked a late sow as weather holding - only expecting mini's if successful but at least I might get a 'Twiggy' bottom!
