Asparagus pest?

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

One of my plot holders stumped me today.

What looks like a tiny green slug and eats all the asparagus foliage?

Asparagus beetle larvae are like caterpillars, so I wonder if the slug like grubs are a kind of lily beetle larvae? They are nasty slimey orange brown little things and completely defoliate the plants if you don't get rid of them. Perhaps there is a green variety, or they might look greenish if they are full of leaves/plant.
