Well done that man, won by the marrowest of margins.

In this case size did count and yours was 4 3/4inches bigger than mine. Mine had a curl at the end that I couldn't get straight

So glad that Old Codger won.

I am confused: you mean it's not you, OH, who has won? I assumed it was - there is no photo so we'll never know unless you own up, OH! (Not that I would have known whether it was you or Old Codger)

He put a X in the no publicity box for fear of being inundated with requests for seed donations.

I know for a fact Curcubit Weakly magazine have offered large sums for exclusive interview rights

Congratulations OH. Pity we didn,t get a photo of you triumphially holding your winner like anglers who have caught the biggest fish. I reckon you must be going anonymous to avoid all those emails from foreign ladies who are desirous of your assets. Or maybe you’re worried the burglars will come round and steal it. Cook is obviously going to be busy, unless you’re planning to use it as a doorstop!

I once worked with a girl, Suzy, who one could never "sexually harass" - she gave as good as she got. When I gave her a rather thin marrow and suggested she could make "Stuffed marrow a la Suzy" she studied it for a moment and replied "I think I'll do stuffed Suzy a la marrow"!
