Playing devils advocate

If we were entering a local show we would be up against any variety.

As to future comps of this type, if the magazine still has a generous sponsor giving away seeds then I feel any competition could be based upon those seeds.

At least that part is a level playing field then, just don't use the level playing field of any local public school :)

It's all only a bit of fun, and most of the of the replies in both marrow topics, have made me smile and you can't ask for more than that.... :)

Maybe it's just me who is a nark ,blame it on the arthritis , I must admit I was wondering how they could determine wether it was the right marrow or a different type I did think that to be on the judging panel was not something I fancied

Ha!

Wot are we like Emma - Lemmings springs to mind, but that's cool they are cute critters! OK next year we read the fine print for ourselves like it is our mortgage agreement!

Let's just say next year you limit it to some seed you kindly give us on the mag & not any old humongous pumpkin that you can pick up for £200 per seed! Still could be open to cheaters though, but the forum guys will stick to the rules (even if not read correctly) & use your seed so maybe a forum prize & a readers prize?

I've just tripped over a courgette that's about two feet long. It might have a chance in the competition. Must check them more often. I'd got a bit bored with them. I'll have to look in my What shall I do with all the Courgettes recipe book.

If nothing else I've at least helped swell the entry numbers whilst the marrow hasn't swollen much at all.

My entry is in
