May i be the first of many to wish Lirpa 1 a very Happy Birthday indeed.

And a big thank you for all the laughs, over many, many years. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

May I second that, unfortunately I haven't managed to compose a suitable tribute this year but perhaps somebody else will be along shortly, perhaps one of the gardeners from San Serif (if anybody can remember back that far).

Remember that recipe LP did for a Rio Loaf?
I think it had nuts in?
Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.

I've heard so much about Lirpa 1, I actually feel as if I have missed out. Happy birthday.
Things are just not like they used to be.

To celebrate, I'm off to study a bit of greek mythology with a gala tea. Maybe I'm losing my marbles. (there's cryptic for you :D )

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.

This constant wet weather is playing havoc with my early spaghetti crop.

Did not get gala tea after all, was planning a photographic record but the engine (Galatea) failed without leaving Southall. Train was disappointingly diesel hauled instead.

Thank you, Alan, for the nostalgic trip to the spaghetti growers ...... I remember it well. Was the commentator not Richard Dimbleby?
