I should have mentioned in my previous post about one way of utilizing blown sprouts. Leave the plants in until the spring at which point they will start to push out flowers from all the blown sprouts; these make very good sprouting broccoli. Even sprout plants that have produced usable sprouts will have remaining nodes from which they will produce spring broccoli if left .
The tuft of leaves at the top of the plant can also be harvested as spring greens once the weather warms slightly and sweetens the leaves.
