Blight rant

Postby hilary » Sat Jun 14, 2014 4:12 pm

Hi,
Yesterday I sprayed for blight up on the lottie since there was no wind and it poured during a thunderstorm over night so not much good done there.
Forced to spray as some inconsiderate person didn't lift their potatoes last year and let them overwinter so now they have blight which has spread in a circle out from them to neighbouring plots. All other potatoes are fine so fortunately the salad potatoes in bags at home are OK but I am not happy at the main crop being struck so early especially as I try very hard not to spray anything at all!
Oh well the slugs have been a real problem and the rabbits so general consensus of the few of us up there is why bother!
Rant over .. ....
