Cauliflower heads

I have some cauliflowers, some of which I got as seedlings from a neighbour, and others I grew myself from seed. They're good and leafy, but don't seem to be developing the cauliflower head. When should this happen and is there anything I need to do?

Give them a while yet. I find cauli's put on good leaf growth and look like no head is forming and then all of a sudden whoosh, head formed and you are needing the good leaf growth to wrap the head in
