As I understand it tiger worms (used in a wormary) will kill off normal garden worms.
So will normal garden worms be ok in a wormery and if so can you buy them?

Earthworms live in soil and will not survive in a wormery.

I've never heard of tiger worms or Brandlings (composting worms) killing garden worms. As Alan says they just like different conditions. They are called tiger worms because of their stripes not because they're vicious . There are a few kinds of composting worms for sale or you could just pick some out of your compost heap.
