Apart from the usual birds and butterflies and bees, an exceptional number of these. Lots of wonderful Welsh names for them: ceiliog rhedyn (fern cock), sioncyn y gwair (little man in the grass), Robin sbonciwr (jumping Robin).

Had the geese flying over in formation from Stanpit Marsh to Pennington Marsh for several weeks now. Started in fragmented groups but now coming back to Stanpit in the evening in a very large 'V' formation which is very impressive!

As well as the visit from the mole, the squirrels have done their usual trick of eating every nut on both the Kentisbury cob and the Butler's Filbert. Well, they left me one nut and several piles of shells and husks. There are still several hedgehogs visiting every night and we have pipistrelle bats and the tawny owl. The cat thinks he is doing his bit by bringing wood mice and shrews as presents.
