Re: Lambing time again

Hooray, I love spotting the first lambs. I saw some around Christmas time a few years ago near Redditch, but haven't seen any that early since. Lets hope it stays drier, lambs really don't thrive in the wet. They tend to die :(

Re: Pot size ?

I am very tempted Johnboy, I love the look of terracotta pots, nostalgia for my grandfathers potting shed I suppose. Trouble is, I don't actually need any. Still, you have lots of them, and I don't live far from you, so I may pootle over and relieve you of some come the spring...

Re: Dakar Rally

I agree Catherine, and would like to see more of the people who are doing it on a comparative shoe-string, doing their own mechanicking and sleeping in a tent.

Re: Wonderful Photo's

I saw the northern lights here in the midlands back in the 1980s. They were red and green and stunningly beautiful. I was so lucky.

Re: Dakar Rally

An exciting stage today, Catherine, all that sand

It tickled me seeing the aerial shots of two cars racing in opposite directions, ooops

Have just read David's notes on the Dakar website, he's right when he says he needs to concentrate on not getting lost, rather than winning...

You lovely people

I don't have much time or inclination to look at or post on many forums, but there are a few which I lurk about in from time to time. This one is nearly always the first one I look in on, and I got to thinking about why that is. I decided that although I am very interested in the subject matter, the...

Re: Dakar Rally

Wow Catherine, that is wonderful! I love following the Dakar coverage, and have for years, especially the motorbikes. The fitness and stamina of the competitors is hugely impressive, let alone riding skills, navigation and everything else involved. Respect!!! Fingers and everything else crossed for ...

Re: My Miss Sugar'nSpice are laying :-)

That is such a beautiful basket of eggs. I would love to have the space for more birds to produce such a variety, but I am very grateful for the three that I have.

Re: tomato rotation

Thank you all, you have made me very happy indeed . I was sooo hoping this was the answer. I am going to adopt Alans strategy of one side of tunnel one year, t'other side the next, with some of everyone else's policies thrown in, then all we need is some sunshine... talking of which, that is what is...

Re: Not in Hibernation!

Snakes have a very good sense of smell, their olfactory organs are located in the tongue, which is why they flick them in and out when investigating. Their sight is not so good I think, though they can see moving objects better. They also have one very long lung, and the heart can be moved to the si...
