Another bird..

I would so like to hear a nightingale again. We had one at the bottom of our garden when I was about fourteen, 1976, still have a tape that my good friend has recently transferred from open reel to cassette. Poor thing must have been off target that year, never came back, old hawthorns and nettles s...

There was an item recently on Farming Today about the 'success' of sales of Organic produce of all sorts. They reckoned an increase of some 30%, then said something about organic fizzy drinks. It doesn't seem to me that they really have anything to do with what is generally classed as organic, carb...

Drill three holes rond the first tyre, then through the holes use a wax crayon to mark the second tyre, drill its holes and bolt them together. He...

Neighbour, both plot and home, told me Saturday he had got forty pounds of goosebrries off his bushes this year :!:
Everyone has had tons of strawbs, the rsapberries are romping and the blackcurrants are festooned.

Bumper year for soft fruit perchance?

On target I think.

Whenever I chop mine my fingers stick together with the juice and I was thinking "garlic flakes, ah chop garlic then dry" then "oh sticky stuff".

I presume now that the shrinkage means slices of clove quite thick?

What other stuff Onions, the leaves will fall over as one and start to die off. Provided the weather is good leave them to get on with it and the outer skin of the bulb will turn brown and papery, that is when to harvest them, remember there are alot of roots under the bulb though, a trowel can be u...
