If you are practising rotation don't forget some of these oriental salad are Brassicas and very prone to clubroot.

Fieldfares

Some of you down South must be getting a lot of Fieldfares judging by the hundreds that have being passing over us going North-South this weekend. They have had the odd noisy rest on some of what was a wonderful show of Rowan berries!

If his articles are a representative sample no wonder "Organic Gardening" had to close down, even the organically committed would recognise them as garbage. "Kitchen Garden" could follow it if it doesn't concentrate on factual rather than fatuous content.

We've pickled shallots from seed and first trial after about a month the flavour was disappointing so we are leaving them longer, anybody else got this problem?

Was the belt slipping on the pulley or pulley going round but not transmitting to wheels? If second something in axle as you suggest.

I used to have a LawnFlite 604 but I can't remember how the drive system worked or find the manual. I seem to remember two belts, one for drive and one for cutter. You say you changed all the belts and it worked fine for a while, that makes me wonder if the drive belt is slipping after its initial s...

Glorious day here too with insects everywhere, buried ten huge barrow loads of compost in 10'x20' area that I hope will do better next year, and followed by yet another lovely sunset.

Do you mean the gearbox is stuck in neutral so there is no drive or the engine power has dropped?

We've had a good crop of Northern Sweet in a cold greenhouse. Shredding them today - the best part, wife eats all the corn.
