Re: conference pears
My Conference pear usually fruits really well. It is fan-trained against a west wall and seems to like the heat that radiates from it (when we get some sun!). This year however it has lost lots of fruitlets - more than usual perhaps - during the normal June drop - the process whereby apples and pear...

Re: Flooding
For now Connie I'd concentrate on the planting holes as others have said - adding your preferred nutrients as you go, then you can top up with mulches as suggested above around hungry plants such as squashes and in the autumn either dig in or just lay over the top plenty of well rotted manure or gar...

Re: Polytunnel Plastic Grade??
Hi Connie Any of the polytunnel manufacturers will be able to sell you a new cover for your frame if you give them the size. As others have mentioned covers some in various grades but all good ones will have UV protection to give the cover a longer life when exposed to bright sunlight. It is also a ...

Happy Easter!
Hi Chaps. Just wanted to wish all our forum regulars a very happy Easter from all on the KG team. Looks like the weather is set fine for gardening so we hope you have a great time in the garden - or perhaps visiting someone else's. Cute as they are, may the bunnies keep away from your carrots.

Re: Merry Crimbo and a Happy New Year!
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas folks. Judging by the comments on another thread started by Pa Snip, you (mostly) all did, apart from the occasional family hiccup (but that's Christmas!). Quiet one for Mrs Carrot and I, so managed to avoid all that this year! Wanted to echo Tony's comments above...

Hi Colin. If you look at the bottom right hand corner of the box. On the white margin is a circle with a cross in it. Click on that and the box should close for you. It is cut off on your picture above.

Re: Contact You Via Email
Sorry you are still having problems Colin. I've passed your message on to D T Brown, but in case they need more info would you like to either send me your email address via private message so I can pass it on to them, or perhaps give them a ring and phone in your order. If the latter the number is 0...

Re: Preserve your produce
I love plums Westi so am quite jealous although a glut of plums to add to the apricots might not go down well at the moment! Plum jam and gin does sound good! Last winter I planted a gage (Jefferson's Gage) so have that to look forward to, but not for a few years yet. Plenty of time to look up some ...
