Re: Late Summer Bit and Bobs.

We were cut off by the floods yesterday, but seemingly we can now get to Arbroath, but the roads north to Montrose are still flooded, the river locally is almost eight feet up and the Tay in Perth is almost 19 feet above summer level and parts of the fair city are flooded.

Re: Having one of those days!

We are on the frontline, Reds to the north and Greys to the West(the sea is to the East and South of us), neither in our village as we are in a sea of poly tunnels and tatties and barley, barely a tree to be seen.

I could do with another big dalek, this ones full to the top, I'm not able to turn it over so it will take longer to be ready, probably another year.

Re: 2023 season begins..................

Re: Late Summer Bit and Bobs.

I have been very lucky, I have never had blight in any of my greenhouses, lost some tatties to the disease, but not tommies.

Re: Clear the plot for winter or keep growing?

Zero winter crops for me, I shall be fishing and filming wildlife, I don't over tidy as the bugs and beasties and birds need a home/food, usually April when I tidy up.

Re: Wildlife pond

The pond is shutting down for winter now, all I do is remove some of the floating tree leaves from the surface with a net, I don't disturb the underwater world now until springtime to let nature do it's thing.

Re: Late Summer Bit and Bobs.

The wind is blowing at the moment and flattened one of the outdoor sweetcorn, it has pollination, but not much growth, so it is hung up for the Sparrows and Blue Tits.
