It's a strange year, we normally have cabbage whites coming over in flocks anything up to 50 to 60 at a time this near I've seen around ten up to now ,we are surrounded by wild fields but the new plots on the end of our allotment means the grass and weeds have been controlled but not the rest of the...

It may be scorched if you have put water over the leaves when watering the plants the way the weather has been could scorch them but as pa snip says you usually take the bottom ones off

Outside toms are supposed to be stopped after the fourth truss inside the pollytunnel I leave till the end is insight normally around the ninth truss but if it's a warm Autumn I will leave them I usually grow into November but I never plant early most people are eating tomatoes when mine are on the ...

I'm glad it was successful pa snip , I managed to get to the plot at the hottest part of the day managed to pick around five pounds of strawberries it's the best we have ever had picked about three pound on Thursday still loads yet to ripen , the asparagus has just about finished it's been a good ye...

I've never mastered the art of growing late potatoes , I did have a kit from one of the seed companies five one set bags and five Charlotte sets I emptied the last one last week I got eleven nice spuds not great but I've had worse
