Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
You don't need a formal exercise plan OH, You daily chores certainly provide it.! But this wet weather is proving a major issue for everybody, not just amateur growers. Farmers with livestock and agricultural growers are particularly suffering and that's going to. Impact us all. One actually finds o...

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
Happy Easter everybody! Broke open a Cadbury,s Easter egg this morning. What a disappointing experience. I'm not a huge chocolate consumer but since they were taken over by Kraft some years ago I suspect their chocolate formula has changed, very much for the worse.. Wouldn,t bother again, a bit like...

Westi
A bit belated but on the issue of your OH needing his driving licence for ohoto ID for voting, he can always sign up for postal voting. No iD needed for that I think but you have to Bon electoral roll.

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
.Also think I would be great if they could focus a little more on growing activities for children who are te next generation of vegetable growers. I know some schools are lucky enough to have small vegetable plots but what about the many children who grow up in flats with no access to growing facili...

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
I've reluctantly cancelled my magazine subscription today. Not due to the increased cost but because I can't stand the monthly frustration of being reminded what it's time to be doing when I'm now too ohysically disabled to do any of it! I shall still be encouraging Mr Primrose to keep one vegetable...

Yes I was wondering abiut the verbena seeds too. Now qi can,t garde I was wondering if qi could just get my husband (who,s not a very proficient gardener) to just sprinkle the seeds in a couple of borders and see what develops. Incidentally our regular visiting garden Robin was spotted feeding its b...

Re: We're moving to Scotand
Hope you manage to find a suitable house that,s "age proofed" if that,s where you perhaps intend to settle. Might save you hassle later. Have learnt that some things creeep up on you more quickly than you can plan for. Agree on packing stuff yourself . Only you know which things are destin...

You,ve been rather quiet which suggests life is currently pretty hectic. At least you're moving at a time when the the weather and daylight hours are moving in the right direction!

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.
Sorry about your problems Westi. Inconvenient to be without a car though, especially in this awful wet weather. The problem is navigating all the bureauracratic involved in finding a suitable replacement.

Re: Grow organic vegetables in small spaces
Welcome. ! As others have said, I think the answer lies mainly in the soil. Your own compost heap w the secret here. You can't get enough of it . Get into a habit of doing a nightly slug/snail patrol, especially after the ground has been soaked by rain and dispose of as many as possible. They will k...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.
Recent heavy winds have dried out our lawns enough to permit a cut. Shockedat how much moss was lurking on the surface but should provide plenty of good nesting material for all the bids in the area !
