Like Dear OH I need time to think about this.. You might be interested to know that on a visit to a store in Nottingham today I was entertained by their in-house music..... playing Christmas carols ....is this a first? The sad thing is that I found myself singing along to them without realising what...

Why thank you OH...I have to admit I haven't 'looked in' as often as I used to and when I have its been just a quick look around the site to see how you all are.

Now that I am semi-retired I seem to have even less time....I am seriously considering going back to work full time.

In the Monty Don programme some years ago where he visited some Birmingham allotments there was a lady who grew various plant for their dyes... I actually saw her giving demonstrations of the processes in The Garden Show at the NEC the following year Now if anyone still has a copy of that show...it ...

I wouldn't say I ended up laughing but for the fourth year on the trot Badgers have taken all my sweetcorn This in spite of building a substantial fruit cage with the wire buried and pegged...it/they still dug their way in....they must have been darned good cobs thats all I can say...shame I didn't ...

A fellow I worked with almost forty years ago, sadly no longer with us, had a saying...."you can't play around with nature and get away with it"... I have tended to agree with him in most instances

Interestingly enough I checked out the Biodynamic garden at GO just last last week...the tomatoes look superb whilst in the allotment garden next door the tomatoes have a touch of blight

This debate sounds so much like a situation that regularly occurs in my industry....you may get away with some things for so long and then Wham! problems hit big time... in my industry that can mean a high financial cost to the rule bender

I have heard good reports of the Robinson variety PlumPudding and they are on my 'to grow' list for next year

I was given a tall Heritage variety of Tutankhamen to try this year and they produced exceedingly well the peas being quite sweet.. I understand they will be in the catalogue this year
