Re: Back issue Feb 2008

Bunuel, Dad will not know but his wife will. He will be more than willing to get her to contact you. I went with her once. A large nursery to the North of Victoria (about 40 mins drive to the N). I was lucky enough to tour into the Rockies a few years back for a 3 week spell with dad and my daughter...

Re: Back issue Feb 2008

Oak Bay is about as close as I can narrow it down, without giving addresses etc. Dad is an Offshore & Ocean Sailing Instructor and owns the Sailing School in Oak Bay Marina. I manage to visit him every 3 years. They have developed their garden with completely native species to Canada! Including ...

Re: Back issue Feb 2008

Good morning Fraser!!
The reason I asked where you were is to work out the time difference and also my dad lives in Oak Bay, (Vancouver Island).
His wife is Canadian.

Have you had more snow than usual this winter in your location?

Re: potting on blueberry bush

I have 6 Blueberry plants in pots and I am planning/building a dedicated ericaceous raised bed for them underplanted with Cranberries (with its own fruit cage cover). I have just read a very helpful article and wanted to share it; http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profiles0801/blueberry_detail.asp 3 of t...

Re: Back issue Feb 2008

Ah, very good OH...
I think Canada is approx 8 hrs behind us on the Pacific Coast and 4 hrs behind us on the Atlantic coast, with many variations in between.
Wherever bunuel lives he's probably still in bed right now!

Re: Back issue Feb 2008

Hello Bunuel, (ca va? Bienvenue! ) Welcome to the forum. I see you joined a while ago but this is your first post. Interesting how you get your KG magazine. Could be a good source for missing/unavailable copies. And cheaper if anyone is not bothered about having electronic copies only. Fraser, What ...

Re: Bits and Bobs No 9

I love seeing the lambs in the fields, jumping around with each other. Its nice to walk out and just sit quietly and watch them. AnneThomas has answered for our area (SE Cornwall). Lambs have been around since at least early December on the farms that are not on the moors. I have noticed the price o...

Re: Travelling and visiting places

Very good Anne, great additions...

If anyone has anything well worth visiting in their area it would be nice to hear about it.
We want to visit more places in the UK this year and personal recommendations always help. :)

Re: Travelling and visiting places

Dear OH.....You are quite right you do have to be fairly agile to explore Cornwall as most of it is hilly. Those with the attributes of a mountain goat will do very well here!

And the young lady with the the most gorgeous eyes you have ever seen......how long ago was that?

Re: Travelling and visiting places

It took about 20 mins! I could say it took me longer and get the brownie points but it didn't.
There will be loads more coming.....just to confuse you more.
And AnneThomas hasn't started yet, no doubt she will have a list to add.
Lost Gardens of Heligan are magical!! Good call Bren
