Re: Fewer trusses on tomato plants this yesr
Outdoor are smaller plants this year and certainly fewer flowers and trusses. Even the two in greenhouse have not produced much in way of fruit despite being 5 to 6 ft tall.

Re: Late Summer Bits and Bobs.
Primrose I could do with making some plum jam as well, the plum tree on the plot has come good for the first time since planting in 2012.
Alan sorry to read of your loss. Good luck with this weeks eye op.

A P(l)otted History part2, Aug 2015 onward
As my previous 'Plotted History' thread http://www.kitchengarden.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12466&start=90 has reached 7 pages I thought it might be time to start another thread. It seems ages since my last update, it was in fact Aug 3rd, but in allotment terms almost a month is ages. S...

Re: Post holiday disease syndrome
Primrose , I suggest we attempt the first part of a runner bean chain, you start outside your front door and I will start outside mine, we lay runner beans end to end and see where we can get the two chains to meet and join up If we work it right we probably both know of a village with a famous vic...

Re: Post holiday disease syndrome
Now then Primrose how did you know the Victoria plum tree has come good on the allotment for the first time since being planted. It is crammed with plums at the moment but I have a feeling Mrs Snip has counted them. If I am guessing right I think I might have to pay a visit to that village you refer...

Re: Copper tape collars!
Can anyone recommend some "wildlife friendly" (slugs and snails don't count in this instance) pellets! We have quite a lot of birds, a hedgehog and quite a few cats in the garden. We have dogs and are also concerned about wildlife, when all else fails we use 'Growing Success' pellets both...

Re: Post holiday disease syndrome
Perhaps we should pass all our spare marrows to local poncy restaurants. Then they could use them as container boats for their meals instead of the wooden boards, tiles and slates and even shovels which some of them are now using instead of plates Thanks Primrose, And we spent years teaching our ki...

I can really understand your concern Beryl, a most unusual thing to happen.
Has your friend been to the doctor about these figs that are growing on him/her ??

Came face to face with a combine harvester on the road the other night, so big it took its own lane plus half of the lane traffic in the opposite direction was trying to travel in. Traffic travelling in same direction as me had to pull off road (no footpath) tight up against hedgerow in order for it...
