Thank you all for suggestions, not keen on sticking it to laminated floor though.

Re: Early Summer Bits and Bobs.
Bees swarming is a pain for me... neighbor at bottom of garden has bees and when they swarm next door it is time to get indoors until they clear off. Couple of years ago was enjoying the garden when the wife got stung a couple of times and I got stung on ring finger, had to do a 36 mile round trip t...

Re: Polytunnel Guttering
Would have guttering on slant at ground lever of tunnel that would drain into a large bucket or something similar to collect the water. Then use a bilge pump to transfer the water collected to the main reservoir for the soaker hose either manually or automatically using unit with alto sensor. Altern...

Re: Using tea bags in the compost bin

Using water collars
Filled the water collars around the tomatoes a couple just let the water pour out the bottom.
Assume you fill them up to top and let them drain in their own time.
What would cause one to empty quicker than another?

Re: Non peat based composts
Very interesting post JohnB. Have to say I have had mixed success/failures this year and thought it was due to compost so tried different type, but suspect it is more to do with weather/temps & my impatience to get them growing early. The chilli growing guide I have suggest 50/50 coir/compost mi...
