This evening my Homebase has rectangular metal raised bed 7'6"×3'×18" for £25 flat pack, no screws needed, Australian make.

Battens wrapped into the bottom of the net and resting on the top of te raised bed.
Just lift the batten for access.

Of the two near to me the larger one has now rebranded as Bunnings.
The range of available stuff is much more comprehensive and has some excellent items I've not seen elsewhere. e.g. interlocking rubber matting 1m square tiles.

1980/81 winter I experienced the ice inside the windows thing.
We'd moved from a centrally heated wing of an Elizabeth an mansion to a 1950s/60s bungalow with an open fire in the living room.
