Hi Barry ,I'm no expert but I find it depends on how powerful a machine you have ,our plot is the same solid clay around twelve inches down, the first rotavator I had was a Westwood it would churn anything up and dislocate you arms in the process ,it destroyed itself when it picked a brick up ,the n...

Pa snip if you need a translator I'm free , I had a three year spell of working in Yorkshire I know most of the lingo , a lot of nice people there unlike some places I worked they have a sense of humour

I bought a massive bad of John innes on Sunday I struggled to pick it up a bargain at £5 from the place called the hut it's about three miles from the allotments it's run by volunteers

Lez , we used to use a broad fork for digging bait on the beaches then again we would use anything that was free ,it was a lot smaller than a normal fork but with wide tangs very hard at the time to obtain

I always buy a different one every time I need poison the idea is rats can get used to and thrive on poison ,I use the blocks I put three or four on a length of wire I put a steel bar through the wire to stop rats running off with it I then blockade it from my chickens and hopefully other wildlife I...

Wall to wall sunshine I can't believe the amount of plants with shoots showing ,I've got the same forecast on my phone for tomorrow but the local radio is giving a cloudy day and heavy rain , I've just got back from the plot were I planted two rows of Pease as well as an hour or so in the pollytunne...
