Holiday imminent! Will the little ones survive?

The trip is now imminent. Off to the French Alps tomorrow for 10 days. Problem - Travel and going away does not mix well with growing things. I am still moving things around into the best locations to survive without me attending to them for 10 days. Most things have gone outside into covered cool a...

Re: Seconds away, Round TWO!

The sun is shining in Cornwall, its a beautifull day!
Snow is still lingering on the higher parts of Dartmoor (highest parts approx 620m) and Bodmin Moors in the distance. Shade temp 9 C (out of the wind).

Re: coleus canina/scardy cat plants

Same with me, then I left it in the garden during the winter and it died.
I do not usually kill plants but did not know much about this one at the time.

Re: Watch this space

Catherine, running your own business can be very rewarding. Best of luck to you both! I too think that when the economy is a bit flat and people have less money to spend, 'fixing things' works. People definitely want things fixed up and maintained rather then paying out more to replace them or upgra...

Re: Who has succumbed to putting first seeds in!!!

Oh Primrose, you just brought back a memory for me! It was when our Springer (Sassy) was alive and still a pup, so 10 years ago now. We were all out for the morning and come home to find that she had taken a feather cushion from the sofa...... She had had a right merry time with it, the feathers wer...

Re: Good News?

You came up with the goods again Alan, Which one is OH?? I keep a little fan round here for when my friend is visiting and she always sits by the window (or we go outside). She calls them 'Melting moments', but her husband calls them 'GET OFF moments'. (The covers come off, don't even touch me! Wind...

Geoff, FYI...its more than one day a month currently and due to increase soon. "The current minimum statutory holiday entitlement is 4.8 weeks (24 days per annum for an employee working a normal 5 day week). This entitlement has applied since 1 October 2007 and is inclusive of Statutory Bank Ho...

Re: For frying out loud!!

Yeah exactly Alan...NOTHING! You can't sustain yourself on nothing. I was aquainted with a lady once (a neighbour) who was a vegan. When the local kids were invited to hers for a birthday party they would dread it! and come in to me to get some 'proper food' and drink after / during. She expected he...
