Re: Tomatoes won't go red!
Alan and Ken I know you are right - I was just a bit behind this year ..... I do usually have everything planted (usually lying around the house is cool places) in March or April so I guess until you asked me I had forgotten how late I was this year and hence the late harvest! Thanks again for all y...

Re: Tomatoes won't go red!
Alan - thanks for the visual reminder! I planted them from seed in May- indoors in the conservatory and then into the greenhouse in June. Three varieties Gardeners delight, Moneymaker and Super Marmande. Akways had success with the first two and thought I would give the 'big boys' a go this year but...

Tomatoes won't go red!
This year I have grown three different types of tomato in my greenhouse - hoping to avoid the blight of last year! Every plant is laden with fruit but will it go red - will it heck!! Its not even a turning a faint blush colour? I have fed them, watered them regularly and they seem to by fine but.......

Re: Chillies - Scotch Bonnet, Jalepeno, Fuego & one other!
Thank you Tigger and Mrs L! The 'one other' is Apache! I took one of each (except Scotch Bonnet) and gave my husband a taste test but they all tasted very similar and not at all hot/spicy?? Maybe it is still too early and they need to mature a little more. Anyway thanks again for all the suggestions...

Chillies - Scotch Bonnet, Jalepeno, Fuego & one other!
I was a bit of a sucker for a bargain and bought a special offer of 12 chilli plants back in the Spring. They have all grown well and have lots of chillies on them but having never grown them before I am now wondering: 1. Do they go red on the plant? 2. What on earth should I do with so many chillie...

Raspberry Canes
I have some summer fruiting raspberry canes which I put in about three year ago. They have been very successful and this year produced a bumper crop. The trouble is they are in two beds and now taking up a lot of room - particularly when netted. I therefore want to move the smaller number - about se...

Planting out my courgette seedlings
About a month ago I planted some Courgette seeds and put them in the greenhouse and they are now looking healthy and about one and half inches (sorry old money!!) high. I potted them on into small pots but just wondered when I should be looking to put them outside? June sometime?? Should I add some ...
