purple sprouting transplants not growing

I planted out my purple sprouting seedlings about 6 weeks ago and they haven't done anything since. They were sown in cells, hardened off and then planted out. Is there anything I can do to get them moving?

I've been really surprised at how well the sweet peppers have done in the greenhouse without much effort. I find sweetcorn does well in the greenhouse. It takes up quite a lot of space so I tend to grow it in my inaccessible corners. This year I've got purple french beans climbing up the sweetcorn.

thanks Colin

I gave them a good feed yesterday.

Did you so your beans straight into the ground or start them off indoors?

Whats wrong with my french beans?

I've got several varieties dwarf and climbing french beans growing in various parts of the veg patch. The lower leaves of them are suffering. The leaves get brown patches over them, almost like blight, turn yellow and finally the leaf viens are all that are left. Is it lack of water, a disease or is...

Uncooked beetroot

I make a beetroot and carrot salad. Grate the carrot and beetroot. Make a dressing of orange juice, a bit of oil, salt and a pinch of sugar. (you need to taste the dressing before adding it to make sure it's to your taste). I think I may add a bit of balsamic vinegar as well. Anway, mix it all toget...

The tallest on-line sunflower

One of the sunflowers in the veg patch is romping ahead of all the others. At the moment it is 2.26m, I know it's still a baby compared to some sunflowers that are grown. But I'm laying down the gauntlet. Can anyone beat it. Mine hasn't flowered yet so it still has time to get bigger, Who's got the ...

Dear Skip I've been looking up onion problems in my organic bible. Could it be Onion White rot. the book says 'Highly persistent soil-living fungus. The resting bodies can survive in the soil for up to 15 years without a suitable host plant. The fungus is active when the soil is around 10-20 degrees...

advanced slug pellets

Hi all
I've been using the advanced slug pellets and didn't even realise.

I bought mine from the Organic Gardening catalogue.

they are called
Growing Success advanced slug Killer

and it says they are certified for organic use.

Thanks John boy

I've got some waterpipe which I've used with netting over brassicas. My brain is too frazzled by young children to realise I could just use fleece instead of netting.

I'd be interested to now how you get on with the slug pellets.

I planted crown prince this year. One of the plants is doing ok, the others struggled with the low temperatures in may. I'm running a giant pumpkin competition amongst my friends and I have 1 Atlantic giant pumpkin which has set and is now starting to grow. I did pollinate it myself. The slugs are a...

Thank you primrose. I'll give it a try.
I saved climbing french beans last year and they have come back as climbers. I actually went out and harvested about 10 pods yesterday. They might the first successful crop I've grown this year.
