However, buy http://www.amazon.co.uk/Liquid-Gold-Log ... 1903998484 and learn all you need to know about peeing on your plants.

There are bizarre non-plant related uses for the liquid gold - eg the complexion! Great book, can recommend.

Re: eSeeds.com

I like DT Brown but don't need any more seeds for 20 years, lol! Perhaps because we made the mistake of going to the T&M open day! Plus have returned from Ryton Potato Day getting potatoes and swapping seeds. Perhaps I better go check the lottery results in case I'm a millionaire and can afford ...

Re: Allotment Toilets

On BBC Radio 4 a while back, there was a programme about a new housing development in Sweden - the toilets separated the crap from the liquid gold and collected both - both were then used as fertilisers. Reminds me of a Spitting Image song about the privitisation of the water industry with the lyric...

As long as the the cover month and to-do-list month are the same...
Perhaps the first week though is a bit early - run the risk of forgetting what you've read by the time it is "relevant" or on the plus side, forward planning....

And I always wanted more leek seeds

I have rootrainers, and I also use paper pots. The problem I was having with rootrainers was that the brassicas I planted/sowed in them, were getting their leaves tangled as if they were playing twister.

Re: Magazine cover dates

Gaby at KG's sister magazine, Organic Gardening has done a climbdown. The current issue is called Winter 2008 (for February), so that at the end of Feb, they can release March 2008 issue covering March things. Arising from the KG mag discussions on the cover date, can I air a general bugbear (not di...

March issue - does that cover what to do in March or in February? Confusing, though the current Organic Gardening issue for what to do in Feb is the Winter issue (with the February issue covering what to do in January)! Hurray for Gaby :D !

Yesterday, I went into C'fon to go shopping for chopsticks. I went into Woolies and came across a coffee growing kit. Hmm. I don't like coffee though. Tea - yes. Coffee - yuck.

On another gardening messageboard thing, someone posted a couple of pictures with diagrams for origami pots out of newspaper. Had a fold myself and they look good. I also have a paper-pot maker thing from the Organic Gardening Catalogue.

I can grow garlic, shallots and leeks to nice sizes but not onions which look absolutely pathetic in size. However, the garlic and leeks suffer from rust, but there's none on the shallots and onions (different strain?).
Will try again next year!

Czar runner beans from the organic gardening catalogue can be used like butter beans. The flowers are white, if I remember rightly.
And if you use them with breadcrumbs in a mouse mill, you could make chocolate biscuits!
