Hi all, I moved into my new house a month ago and have a huge garden that the previous tennants just used for there 2 dogs, there was no mess left when i moved in and the grass was all cut, so it is tidy but i wondered about things left in the soil like parasites etc, i am anxious to get growing and...

have you tried looking in a oriental/world food supermarket? we have severall in plymouth they sell all manor of things!

why do we humans think we can go round killing other creatures just because we dont like something about them magpies naturally eat young birds and eggs,also small mammals and insects as well as other things, its NATURE, at least they dont eat mass produced, mutant, caged animals like the average hu...

i grew marketmore outside last year and i'm sorry to say i neglected them a little however they still produced a bumper crop the fruit was prickerly but i just rubbed it off???!!

i saw on grand designs recently a couple built a house with a load of tyres, i'm not suggesting that but maybe u could build a low wall somewhere with them and fill them with herbs, for all the allotments guys and girls?

i made a cake with a rather large swede i had once just followed a carrot cake recepie and substituted carrot with swede, it had a unusual taste to say the least, it smelt of swede, but tasted alright!

i watched victorian farm last night on bbc2 and they were growing mangold wurzels for the animals they were quite big and i wondered if they tasted good maybe something like swede? my gran said in the old days they made a cough mixture from them??

whilst turning out my mums loft when she recently moved i found some Onion Ailsa Craig seeds, they are "pelleted" and vacum seeled and are dated from the 70's does anyone think they would still germinate???
