Snapper ride on problem

Hi, I've an LT11 Snapper ride on mower that must be 20 years old but still does wonderful service and everything starts first time when COLD ....... however if I need to stop to clear a grass blockage, while the engine (and drive) restart first time, when HOT the blades will usually not restart unti...

Re: Poor crop - soil problems?

Re: Poor crop - soil problems?

I hope I'm not going from one extreme to the other but I've started collecting grass-cuttings for autumn 2014 and ordered a 20kg bag of chicken pellets for my 100smetre plot for application as soon as the plot is clear (beans & parsnips remain). I've also found an old (at least 12years old) seal...

Re: Poor crop - soil problems?

Thanks to all - very interesting and helpful ...... local cow-muck sounds the answer if I can get it to our garden.

I've just done a soil test - ph7 - neutral - which I assume simplifies corrective action this autumn.

Poor crop - soil problems?

Hi Folks - been growing veg for a few years without really knowing what I'm doing but this year my crops have been terrible. Others in our area of France look to have done ok so I think the rain's been adequate but I notice they spread lots of manure (which we cannot do due to access restrictions) a...

Re: Cadet front wheel locking

Hi CLIVE (sorry about calling you Peter - I had another very senioer moment!) - As you suggested, Richard was back with the answer within an hour. What a source of info he is. He explained that the wheel arm is rocked back far enough so that the flanges of the chaincase enter the cutout in the arm. ...

Re: Cadet front wheel locking

Hello Peter - Thanks for your reply and very helpful suggestions. The parts list WAS sufficiently detailed to allow me to spot, on the chain case diagram, (item 22) a "nut, wheel location" and (item 26) a "screw, wheel location" - so I am now feel certain these were indeed specia...

Cadet front wheel locking

I'm (hopefully) repairing a Webb Cadet rotovator but would appreciate some guidence as to how to lock the front transport wheel back in the "move-it" position. I note there is a convenient roll-pin on the wheel's leg and interestingly I have a bolt missing from the chain-case right where t...

Re: Merry Tiller Titan Ploughing

Peter & John, Thank you both for your help. I've looked at the ebay site mentioned and can confirm that I have the furrower, which I note should be used with the tines instead of skid. I'll be looking out for a plough attachment on ebay! Speaking of the skid, on p13 of the Titan manual I ...

Merry Tiller Titan Ploughing

Two questions please - 1) "Philkin" posted a picture of a fix for a loose push/pull B+S choke, but it's been moved. Can anyone point me towards it? 2) After many years rotovating I decided to explore the ploughing attachments that came with my Titan. There seems nothing on ploughing in the...

Hi Clive & Richard - all the links are now properly connected thanks to your joint help. The governor spring is now properly attached to the gov arm & the bellcrank now re-adjusted to sit neatly under the end of the gov arm ........ a result! I tried the engine once I'd come to terms with th...

Thanks guys! Think I'm making progress now because Clive was quite right ..... in my case the the bowden (?) cable indeed operated the bellcrank directly & i do indeed have a manual choke. So I've fitted the rod with its spring outer between the carb's bellcrank & the bellcrank on the tank l...
